We recently published a new research paper that adds to our understanding of fluid-structure interactions within water infrastructure systems. This work was produced by Litostroj Engineering A.S and Brno University of Technology as part of Work Package 6 in the H-HOPE project. The paper was authored by Ondřej Urban, František Pochylý, and Vladimír Habán.

Our research examined how fluids interact with structures in various flow conditions, specifically looking at water infrastructure applications. Using mathematical modeling and numerical simulations, we studied both inviscid and viscous flow conditions to better understand these interactions.
In our study, we:
- Investigated how geometric parameters influence fluid behaviour
- Analysed frequency-dependent effects in viscous flows
- Examined phase shift effects in dynamic systems
- Compared viscous and inviscid flow conditions
The findings contribute to the field of water infrastructure engineering, with potential applications in water distribution networks, pipe system maintenance, and water treatment facilities.
The complete paper is now available, where you can find the detailed mathematical models and results of our work.
