We are excited to announce our first panel discussion, Hidden Hydropower Potentials in Water Networks, which will bring together industry experts and researchers to explore the untapped energy opportunities within water infrastructure. As the global push for sustainable energy solutions intensifies, this discussion will shed light on innovative ways to recover energy from existing water networks.
Water networks offer significant, yet often overlooked, opportunities for hydropower generation. By integrating energy harvesting technologies into these systems, we can enhance sustainability while improving efficiency in water distribution and management. This panel will focus on the latest research, technological advancements, and real-world applications that can drive the adoption of these innovative solutions.
The discussion will be moderated by Xavier Escaler, who will present key findings from the H-HOPE project, an initiative dedicated to advancing hydropower integration in water systems. Joining him on the panel are:
Eduard Doujak (Technische Universität Wien) – Expert in distributed water-energy solutions.
Pierpaolo Rugiero (Acque Veronesi) – Bringing insights from the utility sector on energy recovery in water networks.
Loris Pavanetto (ETRA SpA Società Benefit) – Driving sustainability and infrastructure innovation.
Cristina Scarpel (B.M. Tecnologie Industriali s.r.l.) – Specialist in digital technologies for water-energy management.
